Flight Features We Can’t Live Without

Canto’s SaaS product, Flight, has numerous awesome components. Every time there is a new update with even more awesome features we get excited as if it’s a new toy we get to play with. We’ve asked the Flight by Canto crew to share their favorite feature that they couldn’t live without. Here are the results.

Box Integration – Megan, Marketing
Box + Flight Integration

The visual aspect of Flight is a life changer. Flight is easily navigable and goes hand in hand with my favorite feature, which is the Box Integration. I use Box because it securely holds the abundant amount of digital assets I have and the integration of Box with Flight makes finding the files so much easier. With Flight there are no duplicates or need to check every thumbnail to distinguish between versions.

Sharing to Social Networks – Duchess, Flight’s Startup Dog
Duchess Sharing Photos

Duchess has always been ahead of the game with social media, so it is no surprise the feature of Flight she cannot live without is sharing her digital assets to multiple social networks. The SFO update allows users to share videos directly to Vimeo and YouTube. Check out the photos of Duchess shared from Flight to Pinterest.

InDesign Plug-in – Nick, Sales

Flight Plus InDesign

It’s difficult to pick a favorite feature, but at the moment I really like the Flight InDesign Plug-in. This new feature allows users to drag-and-drop images from Flight into InDesign and simplify their creative workflows. Flight is an ideal platform for effectively organizing creative assets and InDesign is one of the best applications for executing different design projects. Portals – Grant, Sales

Flight Portals

Grant’s favorite feature of Flight is Portals. With Portals you have the ability to instantly share  approved files to offices around the world or share thousands of assets to the public through one link quickly and securely. Public Portals allow anyone with the link to have access to the page, whereas Private Portals require a login and password to gain access. Having the ability to create unlimited portals, each with its own custom branding and user permissions, is a powerful tool indeed.

Intuitive Approval Process – Kelly, Marketing Intern

My “fave” feature of Flight that I cannot live without is the simple approval process. The intuitive approval process takes collaboration to the next level. The SFO update allows Pilots to determine the status of assets as ‘pending’, ‘approved’, or ‘restricted’. Another great part is that only approved digital assets appear in public Portals, so I automatically know the content I can use has already been approved.
