Get to know the Canto leadership team that drives DAM innovation

Jack McGannon


Jack McGannon is charged with growing the value of Canto by offering its customers technology solutions that meet their evolving business needs. Jack has over 17 years of experience in the technology world. Previously, he was CEO for the US operations of Ein Sof, a technology services provider. Prior to that, he was CEO at Document Sciences from September 1998 until It was purchased by EMC in 2008. Jack holds a BA from Stanford University and MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.

In his free time, Jack enjoys spending time with family and likes to play and watch sports.


Michael Mathieu

President, Flight

Michael Mathieu, former CEO of YuMe, Inc and SET Media Inc., has been appointed President and will be focused on expanding the company’s fast growing SaaS, Cloud-based DAM solution, Flight. Michael will focus on the continuing development of Flight’s management and services while leading the culture responsible for Flight’s exponential sales growth in 2015.

Thomas Schleu


In 1990, Thomas Schleu co-founded Canto. Since that time he has played a pivotal role in the development of Canto’s robust digital asset management products. Thomas oversees the technology at the core of Canto’s product offerings. Prior to his appointment as Chief Technology Officer, he served as Canto’s lead engineer from 1990 until 2008.

He holds a Diploma in Computer Science from the Technical University of Berlin.

When taking a break from software development, Thomas enjoys listening to a variety of music genres: such as Baroque, Alternative Rock and Jazz. He’s very interested in modern art, and enjoys sharing Berlin’s art museums with visitors to the city.


Hans D. Schaedel


Hans Schaedel contributes to Canto’s success and sustainability by solving business problems creatively in many areas of our operations. In his role as the CFO, he focuses on defining cloud based business applications as well as leading the accounting and legal departments.

Before joining Canto, Hans provided tax advice to corporate clients at BDO AG, one of Germany’s leading accounting firms. This is where he learned the ropes of a service business and gained an appreciation for working in an international environment. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Berlin School of Economics and Law.

Hans has a passion for weaving financial data with innovative technologies. And he enjoys traveling the world with his family.

Thomas Mockenhaupt

Thomas Mockenhaupt

CSO (Chief Sales Officer)

Thomas Mockenhaupt is responsible for all sales and marketing activities for Canto’s flagship product Cumulus. His deep knowledge of customer requirements and workflows allow him to showcase the value of Canto’s Digital Asset Management solution for companies.

Before joining Canto, he was the Managing Director at Vitras, which was acquired by Canto in 2011.

Andreas Mockenhaupt

Andreas Mockenhaupt

Head of Canto Professional Services

Andreas Mockenhaupt ensures Canto provides quality and tailored solutions to our customers. He and his team of consultants, developers and support staff design customized DAM implementations and keep projects on track. He brings over 10 years of expertise in implementing Cumulus installations and perfecting customer use cases while managing complex IT projects.

Before joining Canto, Andreas was Head of Consulting and co-founder of Vitras, acquired by Canto in 2011.

When not managing projects, Andreas enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and a fine glass of wine.

Torsten Buller

Torsten Buller

Director of Operations

Torsten Buller keeps Canto’s business operations running smoothly to meet both customer and organizational needs.

His focus is on creating the necessary structures, processes and procedures required to run the company and support the Canto workforce in accomplishing the company’s goals and requirements.

Torsten ensures that the technical quality of Canto products remains high by overseeing the development team, quality assurance and Canto’s product support. His responsibilities also include managing human resources.

He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Applied Science in Berlin.

Leslie Weller

Leslie Weller

Director of Marketing

Leslie Weller has a deep respect for the way technology connects people with the things they value most. She joined Canto to help marketers, brand managers, product managers and content managers understand there is a better way to make use of their organizations’ growing volume of digital content.

Prior to joining Canto, Leslie worked as the Marketing Director for two of San Diego’s Best Places to Work™ and held senior marketing positions at EMC Document Sciences.

Leslie earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from California State University San Marcos, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University.

A little know fact about Leslie … her first “car” was actually a Honda Nighthawk motorcycle.

Ines Kohler

Ines Köhler

Head of Marketing and PR

Ines Köhler is responsible for all Marcom activities related to Canto’s flagship product Cumulus and Canto Professional Services worldwide. In previous positions, at Schindler Elevators and the IT Knowledge HUB Hasso-Plattner Institute she gained extensive experience in the areas of marketing management, PR and sales strategy.

Ines holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Science and Business Administration – she studied at the Free University in Berlin and the LUISS Guido Carli in Rome.

In her free time, she is a passionate traveler, writer and photographer and enjoys learning new languages.


Friederike Hein

Director of Sales CSI

Friederike – or better known as „Fredi“ – is managing the sales activities for our Cumulus product line in the Americas region. During her career and previous positions at Oracle and other companies, she built up a strong skill set and sensitiveness for complex IT projects. Her biggest motivation is to ensure a unique customer experience – not only by focusing on our brilliant features but by understanding what software solution works best within the customers’ workflow world.

Fredi earned a Master’s Degree in Media Economics from the University of Paderborn, Germany and studied Economics and Communication at the Illinois State University, USA.

When Fredi is not busy traveling around with Cumulus in her bag, she enjoys exploring the worlds’ most interesting cities. One secret about her: she can’t say no to relaxing wellness SPA stays!
